The Veggie U curriculum was provided to three participating school districts in Meigs County by the Meigs County Health Department CFHS Program in 2013-14, 2014-15, and 2015-16.

Veggie U in Meigs County

Funded by the Ohio Department of Health’s Division of Child and Family Health Services (CFHS), the Meigs County Health Department focuses on preventing childhood obesity by promoting good nutrition and physical activity in elementary age children. The program works with area schools to implement the Veggie U program, and supports other activities that encourage children to make healthy choices regarding nutrition and physical activity. Safe Sleep for Your Baby

Is your baby sleeping safely? The CFHS Program conducts a community education campaign to promote infant safe sleep practices among families, caregivers, and other agencies. Watch the short video below to learn more.

Need a safe place to put your baby to sleep? The Meigs County Health Department is dedicated to keeping sleeping babies safe. If you cannot afford a crib or Pack ‘N Play where you can put your baby Alone, on their Back, in their Crib, contact us at 740-992-6626 to check your eligibility for assistance or if you have questions about making sure your baby is sleeping safely.
