Meigs County Health Department offers Level 1 and Level 2 Food Safety Classes
Level 1 classes are designed for anyone that handles food. We teach Level 1 using the ServSafe Food Handler Guide. The guide is included in the price of the class. This class is taught quarterly and costs $10.00 per person. Strongly recommended for churches, school groups, fire departments and other non-licensed food service operations. The next Level 1 class is scheduled for December 15, 2017.
Level 2 classes are a more in depth journey into food safety. We use the ServSafe Manager Curriculum for Level 2 classes. The price is $150.00 per person ($50.00 discount if you, or your employer have a food license in Meigs County). Price includes book. Class is taught twice per year. The next Level 2 class is scheduled for January 9, 10 and 11, 2018.

LEVEL 1 Registration One person per shift is required to have a Level 1 Certificate at all new (opened after 2010) food licensed facilities, also required if facility has been implicated in a food born illness outbreak, or has been cited for repeated unsanitary conditions at an inspection.
LEVEL 2 Registration One person at each risk level 3 or 4 food licensed facility is required to have Level 2 Certification as of March 1, 2017.
